The importance of a voice

This morning I woke up noticing that my voice had dissapeared. Very inconvenient for a person living with Chris; as you know him, he likes to discuss things in a very eager and engaging way. Sitting there without the ability to speak properly while he changed subject from one second to another, all between why I should like jam on my salty bread when I just don't (and to Chris' despair even didn't have a clue what the reason might be WHY I don't like it) to the importance of authorities for children, was rather frustrating.

Today my problem wasn't that I got lost in my arguments, which I sometimes also do discussing with him (as for you who know him personally perhaps might have experienced), it was just that, how much I even tried, didn't have that extra intensity while I was hissing my words out. All I could think of was "I'll get back to that one, and this one...and that one too".

Chris' way of starting up debates is phenomenal and for me who has strong views about many things but isn't that used to putting them at its edge it's of course sometimes hard to keep up the rhythm of his beating wish for heated discussions, but it's always...and I mean it, always very educational. So meanwhile I'll go and make myself a cup of tea I send you this very important message: "Use your voice while you have it".
