We've moved to Midsommarkransen in Stockholm. Not only that, I just finished hanging up some old French commercial posters in the kitchen. We bought them in Strassbourg, and they fit real nice over the dinner table. Just a few moving boxes, bookshelves and paintings to go, and the move is complete.
Of course, our ISP hasn't been able to move our subscription yet, but I'm confident we'll have broadband again in about a week or so. It feels as though my life has been turned around 180 degrees. I realised this as I was filling my dish-washer today. We own a dishwasher. Matted steel. A Bosch. It looks cool and it's silent.
I never thought we'd own a dish-washer. But in a recent fit of metrosexual consumerism I caught myself thinking that a matted steel gas stove would look really cool and in sync with the matted steel Bosch dish-washer. Fortunately I was able to lie down until that notion had passed.
In the mean time it takes me seventeen minutes to step outside, drive to work and get to my chair. This means I can slouch in bed until eight o'clock and still be at work before nine. I'm a new man. A well rested man. A happy man.
